The podcast topic was about leadership, so I naturally was excited to listen to it. What I didn't realize, was that the message of the podcast was something I struggle with most every day.
Trusting the process.
As someone who enjoys leadership and likes to associate with other ambitious individuals, I find that often times leaders and goal-oriented people are hyper focused on numbers. Regretfully, we are often times focused on "the next best thing."
This is a problem.
...and I'm glad I'm starting to understand this before it's too late.
If we get too caught up with the end goal in mind, or the numbers of what we're doing, or the next best thing we can do, we often miss what's going on in front of us and lose sight of the importance of the process we have to go through to get to that point.
As an ambitious, goal-oriented person, I find myself guilty of this thinking. Which is why I'm writing this post right now, as a reminder to....
Keep diving in.
Keep having faith in the process.
...but also be aware of this process.
If you're in the middle of the process and not getting the results you want, stop, and ask yourself, "what am I supposed to be learning right now."
Life is too short; fall in love with the process of being developed as a leader or chasing your dreams, as that's what really matters.
Trust the process. It's happening for a reason.
