Does this mean you should give up on your hopes and dreams to play a collegiate sport? Hell no. Never, ever, give up on your dreams. Never, ever, let anyone tell you what you can and can't do. It is important to be realistic though. If playing a sport in college has been a goal of yours, but no school has offered a college scholarship, why not make the team as a walk-on? Swallow your pride, work your butt off, and you never know what could happen.
I read a great article by Jim Wendler about his journey as a walk-on football player. Definitely a must read, so I thought I would share. You can find it here.
(Please excuse some of Mr. Wendler's vulgar language)
