As time goes by, this quotes is starting to make sense...
The generation I'm in wants everything yesterday; I'm unfortunately no different. The problem is, we can't build a career, relationships, a business, etc. overnight. These things take TIME.
Once we realize building something of importance takes time, and being patient with the process (#TrustTheProcess anyone?), we will feel much more content with our current situation...even if it isn't exactly where you want to be...yet.
But in order for that long-term patience to pay off, you gotta hustle in the short term (daily).
One thing I've been working on lately is figuring out the most important thing each day I need to accomplish in order to bring me one step closer to my goals/life direction.
Some days, it's reading an in-depth, recently released research article.
Some days, it's writing my own research manuscript or blog post.
Other days, it's simply sending an email to someone for coffee.
The important part of this process is realizing what things on our daily 'to-do list' are important, and what things are simply 'busy work.' Once you can recognize the difference, your approach to each day will change for the better.
Be quick, but don't hurry. -John Wooden
